Researching the romance genre, and writing it...

Media resources

There's a lot of myths out there about the romance genre. Most of them have little, if any, basis in fact. Because most journalists, like romance authors, aim for quality writing that avoids errors and hackneyed
clichés, the resources and links on this page are provided to assist journalists to find information about the genre, it's readers, and authors.

Romance Writers of America
Romance Writers of Australia
  • Media information - about the genre, with particular reference to Australia and Australian writers.
  • Myths of romance - Anne Gracie's article about the urban myths about romance books, the people who write them, and the people who read them
  • The ROMA (Romance Media Award) for journalists  - a positive step towards the encouragement of improved media relations between romance writers and the media
I'll add more resources as time permits. If you have particular questions or an interest in my PhD research, or my writing, please don't hesitate to contact me - at bronwyn dot clarke at gmail dot com.
