This will be a blog accompanying my research for a PhD. The blog will provide a place to raise questions and discuss key issues and themes in the romance genre, and to listen to readers’, writers’ and industry professionals’ views and perspectives.
I’m looking forward to ‘meeting’ with the online romance genre community and discussing this rich and important genre.

Your survey looks impressive. I only read romance set in exotic, historical, or non-realist settings, or with elements of science fiction, fantasy or the supernatural. I do promise to read yours, however, when it comes out.

Bronwyn, what a great survey! I agree with the other ladies who have commented. It is about time that *scholars* take romance and its readers as serious readers!lol…Personally, it is my *escape*, and thru it I have made some wonderfully diverse friends, which include a college Prof!lol. Good job and good luck!
